Northrup King Building – Minneapolis, MN

The largest adaptive reuse complex of artist studios in Minnesota, the Northrup King Building, will include at least 84 affordable live/work units, 30 to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) living. The newly renovated building will comprise three historic industrial buildings spanning over 13 acres, 3.5 city blocks, and 738,074 SF in gross building area.

 

 

 

Simpson Housing Rendering Watson-Forsberg

Simpson Housing – Minneapolis, MN

The project involves the demolition of an existing structure followed by the construction of new housing and shelter. This five-story, 124-bed development will include parking and a basement, 36 efficiency apartments with kitchens and bathrooms, and group rooms and bathrooms on the second floor. The 66,260 SF construction will feature a post-tension podium with wood-framed walls on top, a commercial kitchen, and geothermal wells, and is designed to meet B3 energy requirements.

 

 

 

Union Congregational Church – St. Louis Park, MN

Our team oversaw the abatement of the existing building, moving and disconnecting utilities to demolish a portion of the education wing. We constructed a new wall enclosing the remaining space. The newly remodeled space includes: offices, bathrooms, a coffee island, and a gathering space for parishioners. A LULA lift was added for ADA access to the lower level of the building.

 

 

 

 

LHB Rendering for Welch Place Apartments

Welch Place Apartments – Duluth, MN

Designed by LHB, Wadena West is a 60-unit permanent supportive housing development in Duluth, MN. Designed to provide stable housing solutions, the new development will feature studio and one-bedroom units. This affordable housing project is slated to begin leasing in late 2025 or early 2026. Watson-Forsberg, broke ground on the project in October of  2024, starting with aggregate pier and ground improvement work.
