Wadena West Apartments
Safe Haven Supportive Housing in Duluth
Located at the intersection of W 52nd Street and Wadena Street in Duluth, Wadena West is a new 60-unit permanent supportive housing development designed to provide stable, affordable housing for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. A collaborative effort led by City Center Housing, the project features a mix of studio and one-bedroom units and is designed to offer long-term stability, safety, and support services for residents.
Watson-Forsberg broke ground in October 2024 and served as both general contractor and cost estimator until completion in January 2026. Work included extensive ground improvements and aggregate pier installation to ensure a solid foundation for the new structure. Designed by LHB and supported by Rippley Richard, Hanft Fride Law, and Minnesota Housing, the project brings together multiple partners committed to expanding housing access in the region.
Wadena West now offers energy-efficient, thoughtfully designed homes that support both individual well-being and broader community goals.
