Shelter & Safety For Homeless Youth in Central Minnesota

Watson-Forsberg proudly partnered with 180 Degrees, 45 North Group, and BKV Group to renovate and transform the 7,481 SF St. Cloud Youth Shelter—Central Minnesota’s only 24-hour emergency shelter for youth under 19. This essential facility now offers 12 single bedrooms, including designated quarantine spaces, and trauma-informed design elements that prioritize safety, healing, and dignity. With calming wellness rooms, natural light, clear sightlines, and residential-style finishes, the reimagined space supports youth navigating homelessness, exploitation, and family instability.

As the General Contractor, Watson-Forsberg provided comprehensive preconstruction and construction services, working within a tight timeline and on an active site to deliver a welcoming and therapeutic environment. Completed in early 2024, the shelter provides young residents with the opportunity to personalize their spaces while engaging with supportive programming, ultimately empowering them to pursue brighter futures.
